Dr. Olive Sono Shisana is an internationally respected public health scientist, policy strategist, and institution-builder. She has served as Director-General of South Africa's National Department of Health, Executive Director at the World Health Organization in Geneva, CEO of the Human Sciences Research Council, and Special Advisor on Social Policy to the President of South Africa.
