I have retired from the government of South Africa after 30 years of democracy. We accomplished a lot and much more still need to be done. I am writing my memoir and also undertaking a multi country research on the health sector response to gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health. It’s gratifying to still be engaged in intellectual work after formally retiring from the government.
